Abstract
We explore the problem of making two matrices similar while their submatrices are similar at the same time. An approach is adopted based on ideas from state variable feedback and control theory, resulting in an easily implementable solution to the problem. The method is perfectly general and puts no constraints on the matrices other than that they are real.
