Fitzpatrick, Frank (1992) Strategic planning in the women's and girl's outer wear sector of the Irish clothing industry. Master of Business Studies thesis, Dublin City University.
Abstract
This study is concerned with an evaluation of the women's
and girls’ outer wear sector of the Irish clothing
industry. It examines the sector’s performance throughout the 1980’s, using published and unpublished data. It undertakes a comparative analysis of the industry relative to specific countries which appear to have significant manufacturing advantages within this area of economic activity Further, the study incorporates a review of the current situation m the global clothing industry particularly m relation to strategic planning. Finally, this thesis suggests a strategy by which Irish
manufacturers of women’s and girls’ outer wear might
improve their prospects of survival and growth in an
increasingly hostile business enviroment.
